Everyday Phrases in Japanese

Something must have happened.
There must be something.
- 何か = something.
- はず = must, have.
- ある = there is, there is, there is.
- だ = é (to be) / copula.

- 外国 = outside.
- 年間 = ( period of ) year / period per year.
- 回 = counter for (occurrence: times)
学校まで歩きましょう。
Let's walk to school.
- school = school
- 歩く = walk / walk.
私は町を歩くのが好きです。
I like to walk in the city.
- 町 = city.
- 好き = to like, enjoy.
一人で歩く必要はありません。
You don't have to walk alone.
- 一人 = alone
- で = O de presents form, i.e. (in a solitary form)
- 必要 = necessary, necessity, essential, indispensable.
- 必要はありません = not necessary.
私はできるだけゆっくりと歩きました。
I walked as slowly as I could.
As far as I could, I walked slowly.
- できるだけ = as much as you can / as much as you are able / as far as you are able.
- ゆっくり = slowly. / slowly / without haste.
- 歩く = walk.
- 歩きます = walk. (in masu form) - polite.
- 歩きました = walked (conclusively)

His English level is approximately the same as mine.
- 英語 = English.
- レベル = level.
- 同じ = same, equal.
- くらい = approximately, around.
上田と私は同じ年です。
Ueda and I are the same age.
- 同じ = same, equal.
- 年 = age.
確か、彼女は私と同じ時間から出勤している。
